The Liberal or Constitutional Triennium (1820-1823) is a key period in the contemporary history of Spain, but also of Europe and America. The revolution of 1820 lit the «liberal torch» in the Europe of the Restoration and the Holy Alliance and accelerated the already very advanced processes of independence of the Spanish and Portuguese colonies in America. At this text we review the monographs published of the Liberal Triennium during the last fifty years to understand this complex triennium of our history.
